Be guided by Stephen Spurrier, the USQ printmaking master for one or two days to get a taste for printmaking, as well as having the opportunity to see what is on offer in the USQ printmaking studio.
Explore a range of simple methods to create stunning images on paper to take home. You will also learn a variety of different plate making methods including crayon resist and sugar lift, with an emphasis on multi-plate coloured layering and multi layered screen prints. The workshop will also cover intaglio printing techniques including viscosity and stencilling processes and various screen-printing techniques.
Stephen Spurrier holds a Master of Fine Art (RMIT) and his artwork is in state galleries and in many other public collections including Parliament House in Canberra, Artbank and the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
No experience is necessary, but this workshop is not for the faint-hearted.
All techniques will be taught in the first day of the workshop, the second day is optional and provides the opportunity to extend outcomes and consolidate techniques. Pricing includes tuition, most materials and a light lunch.
