What’s A Zine?

A zine is a small, self‑published booklet or magazine, typically produced outside mainstream publishing and circulated in limited numbers. Embracing a DIY ethos, zines often feature handmade or digitally assembled pages that are photocopied or printed, and can cover anything from personal stories, art, and poetry to political commentary or subcultural interests, offering a platform for voices and perspectives that might be overlooked by traditional media. More than just a format, zines are a form of creative and cultural expression, fostering connection, activism, and storytelling for anyone anywhere.

How Do I Get Involved?

You take a zine, you leave a zine – that’s it!

Zines are outside A240, in the corridor to the right of the A Block Foyer Gallery, UniSQ Toowoomba

The Zine Project is facilitated by Assoc Prof Rhi Johnson.
