Student Experience
As a Head Start student you will be given the opportunity to experience University life while still in Years 10, 11 or 12. This program will allow you to work alongside other students and develop your creative art knowledge and skills and practice.
Why Choose Head Start?
Save Money
The first course you undertake through the Head Start Program is free. If you choose to undertake additional courses those courses will incur a discount.
Gain QCE Points
For every Head Start course you successfully complete you will receive two points towards your Queensland Certification of Education (QCE).
University Credit
Since every Head Start course is an accredited University unit, if you enrol in a degree following the completion of your secondary studies you will have fewer courses to complete to obtain your degree.
Experience
As you will undertake each Head Start alongside other University students you will develop a greater understanding of how to approach your tertiary studies following graduation while also developing life-long connections with your peers all before completing year 12!
Direct Entry
Completion of a USQ Head Start course will provide the opportunity for direct entry into a related USQ degree (if the degree pre-requisites are met).
Head Start Graduation
Hear from some of our Head Start Graduates about why they chose to complete a USQ Head Start Course. If you would like further information on the program, don’t hesitate to contact us at headstart@unisq.edu.au
